The Nassau County Chapter of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation (NYAPT) is offering several scholarships in 2022.
The first is the 2022 Scholarship Sponsored by the Reichenbach Family. It awards two $1,000.00 scholarships to qualified graduating seniors who have a parent or guardian working directly in the pupil transportation field in Nassau County. Parent or guardian employer must be an active NYAPT Nassau Chapter member in good standing, and the Scholarship Committee will verify employment. Applicants for these scholarships must have a current cumulative GPA of 75 or higher per high school guidance office certification.
The second is the Kevin Gildea Memorial Scholarship which will award cash scholarships to qualified high school seniors. Those eligible must be the son or daughter of an employee of a school district or school bus contractor, directly employed in the transportation field servicing Nassau County. The scholarship committee will make a verification of employment. The applicant must be a graduating senior, with a grade average of 80 or above, who intends to extend his/her education or training beyond high school. Members of the Nassau County NYAPT Scholarship Committee will make the award of the scholarship. Scholarships will be based on Academics, Activities, Work Experience, Essay, and Neatness.
