WE TRANSPORT DRIVERS TAKE HOME TEN AWARDS AT 2019 NEW YORK STATE SCHOOL BUS SAFETY COMPETITION

The New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA) announced the top finishers in the 48th Annual New York State School Bus Safety Competition, held on Saturday in Valley Cottage. Six of WE Transport’s drivers won a total of ten awards including two first-place trophies.

Marlon Forrester, who works for WE Transport’s Towne Bus, took home two awards: First Place in the Small Bus, Type A competition as well as the award for “2019 Rookie Driver of the Year.” Jose Torres, of WE Transport / Towne Bus, took first place in the Transit Bus, Type D competition.

Other top winners at WE Transport from the day’s competitions include Joyce Olenick, of WE Transport / Towne Bus, who took fourth place, and Adenis DuBois, of WE Transport who took fifth place in the Conventional Bus, Type A competition.

Also, Shannon Darragh, of WE Transport / Towne Bus, took third place, and James J. Baumer, of WE Transport, took fifth place in the Small Bus, Type A competition

The New York School Bus Contractors Association is an organization comprising of more than one hundred school transportation service companies with the primary mission of promoting safe, reliable and cost-effective student transportation in New York State.
