WE Transport began with a single blue Oldsmobile in 1957, when Walter and Edith Marksohn started driving children to school as subcontractors. Two years later, their resolve gave birth to WE Transport, a family-run business that has never lost sight of its founding promise: safe, reliable rides for every student. Today, the second and third generations—Bart, Jerry, Helena, and grandson Brian—guide a “WE Transport Family of Companies” that operates as one cohesive team.

From that humble start, our reach now spans ten depots across Long Island, New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut. More than 2,500 employees operate a modern fleet of 1,700+ vehicles, moving public, private, parochial, pre-school, wheelchair-bound, and other special-needs riders between home and school each day. 

Safety is the heartbeat of our culture. Our industry-certified safety team sets standards few others achieve, supported by rigorous training, advanced onboard technology, and well-equipped maintenance facilities in Nassau and Suffolk counties, NYC, Westchester, and Connecticut.
